How to set up a mirror

The contents of this page assume you have some basic knowledge on how to set up an FTP mirror, and also that you have the required software. I might add some software later on, though.

To set up a mirror of the GNU on VMS Projects WWW pages and FTP archives is really very easy, since it's all available by FTP. The directory structure looks like this:

GNU-VMS --+-- HTML... Contains the WWW pages.
                |
+-- ADMIN... Contains administrative files, like
                | mail responder files and so on...
                |
+-- SOFTWARE... Contains the GNU on VMS software.
                |
+-- MAILING_LISTS Contains the GNU on VMS mailing
                                   list archives.

All you need to do is to copy the whole or parts of the GNU-VMS directory tree. To server the FTP archive, just make sure you have the tree available in your anonymous FTP area. To serve the WWW pages, just make sure your HTTP server has a pointer pointing at the HTML subdirectory.

Please, if you decide to set up a mirror, fill in the following form and send it. This is mostly so I can set up a link to your mirror site.

Information about you (this info will be inserted in the mirrors page):

Your name:
Your email address:
Your personal WWW page (optional):

The things you're going to setup (only fill in the stuff you will do):

Note: the WWW URL that you will insert should be the one pointing at the directory containing the main page. Thank you.
